Social centre in Riga
About us
The Salvation Army Social Center in Riga has been operating since 2010 and its goal is to provide the grace of Christ and His love, so that people open their hearts to God and trust in God in the future, putting their lives in His hands. The doors are open to anyone who finds themselves in a difficult life situation: those who have been granted the status of the needy or low-income, pensioners, the unemployed, the homeless, and people without status. Every month, the Center provides a hot meal to hundreds of needy and desperate people, as well as providing clothes and shoes and giving them the opportunity to wash their clothes and take a shower.
The center employs a social worker who provides consultations and helps, to the extent possible, those Riga residents who are unable to do so themselves – helping to arrange the necessary documents, as well as providing spiritual support.
