Riga 1 Corps

About us

Riga 1. Corps began its activities in 1923. .
During the Soviet era, the church building was expropriated and the club “Oktobris” was opened, which is still remembered by many.
When Latvia regained its independence and the Salvation Army resumed its work in 1990, the property was also recovered and church reopened for worship and ministry.

Sunday services, praise and prayer meetings, and women’s ministry are integral parts of the life of the Corps. There are also several children’s ministries – Sunday school, scouts and youth nights.

Second-hand clothes and items are available, especially for mums and children.
Riga 1. building the Salvation Army Social Centre also has a ministry, and we rent out the space to various groups for financial support.
